On November 17, a 30-member study team from the University of Michigan visited Rwanda Tiankang Company (hereinafter referred to as "Tiankang Company") for a study and research exchange activity. Through listening to the company's introduction, participating in interactive Q&A sessions, and visiting the production workshop on-site, the team gained a comprehensive understanding of Tiankang Company's operation and development model as well as its full-process production system, laying a solid foundation for cross-regional school-enterprise exchanges.

At the beginning of the exchange, the person in charge of Tiankang Company gave the study team a detailed introduction to the company's development history, core business layout, and strategic positioning in the African market. As an important production base of Tiankang Medical in Africa, the company has deeply engaged in the local medical consumables field. Since its commissioning one year ago, it has achieved stable supply of core products such as self-destructive vaccine syringes, providing strong support for the development of public health undertakings in Africa. During the introduction, the person in charge focused on explaining the company's practical experience in localized operation, technological innovation, and quality control, demonstrating the responsibility and commitment of Chinese enterprises in the process of "going global".

In the interactive Q&A session, the study team raised questions focusing on core issues such as the company's technological R&D direction, cross-cultural management strategies, difficulties in expanding the African market, and product quality standards. In response to the team's concern about localized technological adaptation, the company's Chief Technology Officer explained with examples that the enterprise has established a Chinese-foreign joint R&D team to accurately match the usage scenario needs in Africa and conduct targeted optimization of products, effectively improving the applicability and competitiveness of the products. The on-site communication was lively, and both parties exchanged views on industry development trends, talent training and other topics.

Subsequently, under the guidance of the company's accompanying staff, the study team went deep into the production workshop and conducted an on-site inspection of the entire production process from raw material inbound to finished product outbound. From core component processing, automated assembly to multiple quality inspection links, team members carefully observed the operating standards of each process and communicated details with workshop technicians from time to time. When seeing the efficient operation of the fully automated assembly production line and that each batch of products had to undergo three inspections including tightness and safety, the team members highly recognized the company's strict quality control system. "The standardization and intelligence level of the production process exceeded expectations, especially the design of key quality control points fully reflects the enterprise's emphasis on product safety," the leader of the study team commented.

This study activity not only provided students from the University of Michigan with an opportunity to have close contact with the production and operation of overseas Chinese-funded enterprises, but also allowed Tiankang Company to sort out its own development advantages and potential from the perspective of colleges and universities. Bai Jinkun, General Manager of Tiankang Company, stated that in the future, the enterprise will continue to open up channels for study and research exchanges, promote in-depth cooperation between schools and enterprises in technological R&D, talent training and other fields, and inject more vitality into cross-regional industrial innovation and academic exchanges.

It is reported that since its commissioning, Rwanda Tiankang Company has received many batches of domestic and foreign university and industry inspection teams, and has become an important window to demonstrate the overseas operation strength and cross-cultural cooperation achievements of Chinese-funded enterprises.
